Lisa Brothers Recognized as 2025 Real Estate Honoree by United Way

On April 8th, Lisa Brothers, PE, ENV SP, LEED AP BD+C, Principal and Chair at Nitsch, was recognized by the United Way of Massachusetts Bay as the 2025 Real Estate Honoree.

United Way of Massachusetts Bay’s annual Real Estate Event brings industry professionals together to celebrate over three decades of work that United Way has devoted to establishing secure and reliable housing for communities throughout eastern Massachusetts. The event also honors real estate professionals and projects throughout the Commonwealth that advance this mission.

Lisa could not be more aligned with this year’s event theme, “Building an Equitable Future.” A longtime supporter of United Way, Lisa has dedicated her 41-year career to building better communities through her commitment to projects that serve their communities, and through her advocacy for equal representation and pay equity within the AEC industry.

The United Way spoke to a few of Lisa’s colleagues and United Way partner organizations about the impact Lisa has made on the industry, which you can see in the video below.

In her acceptance speech at the event, Lisa noted:

Building equitable communities has been a lifelong passion of mine and this recognition serves as a testament to everyone who has worked alongside me over the many years. Equity is more than just a word, it’s a commitment to fairness and justice, a promise to uplift every voice and bridge gaps that have long divided us.

Whether it’s working to close the gender and racial wage gap, which I’m particularly passionate about, or designing a project that allows people to thrive, true progress is achieved when we ensure that every individual, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to contribute to the vibrancy of our communities.

This award is not just mine. It belongs to every advocate, volunteer, and partner who has worked tirelessly to champion inclusion and diversity. Together, we have fostered environments where differences are celebrated, not merely tolerated, and where every person feels a sense of belonging and purpose.

We’re so proud of Lisa for earning this recognition and for her continued commitment to driving change in our industry. Congratulations, Lisa, for this well-deserved honor!
