Hunger is all around us: in Massachusetts, 美国供养 reports that one in ten households are struggling to put food on the table.

But 人能 makes a difference.

罐头搭建波士顿 is a unique competition that involves designing and building statues made entirely out of canned foods, which are then donated to the 梅里马克谷食品银行. Since 2001, Nitsch Engineering has used healthy canned foods to build the best sculpture possible … and we’re proud to have won a few awards in the design competition along the way!

In honor of this year’s theme, “Heroes vs. Villains,” Nitsch Engineering built Ursula, that iconic villain from Disney’s 小美人鱼. Ursula may be a villain, but even she’s not evil enough to allow hunger to get the best of Massachusetts! Made out of 2049罐 of tuna, peanut butter, and beans, Ursula rises up out of the sea floor to take hunger into her own tentacles!
